Artist's Comments

So, this is some months later. I copied, successfully inked and then colored my original drawing of Battle Crier. I even added some Ruby Red Tester's enamel paint, because it has a perfect thickness and translucent quality of blood that I haven't been able to duplicate with regular paint. Unfortunately, no matter how I tried to tweak it, the scanner I was using liked to think the sandy brown colored pencil was in fact Yellow. My scanner and I had many arguments over this, but alas, the Scanner has continued to insist on several pieces, not all, that this sandy brown/tan color that I'm using is indeed Yellow and nothing else. Trying to adjust the picture now tends to make the rest look dark and muddy, so I've simply left it as is and perhaps one day I shall re-scan the image.

Another thing that bugs me, is I tend to jump the gun on a lot of my artwork when I scan it. I'm so glad with my piece I scan it and then never touch it again. Which is why there's a disembodied claw hanging from her thigh and nothing else. I never actually got around to filling in the monster and background like I did in the first drawing.

Pencil on printer paper followed by ink pen, colored pencils, silver and gold pens, and ruby red Tester's enamel paint.
